Election suspense in Jharkhand ends, ticket of 24 JMM MLAs fixed
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Sunday failed to release its list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. The main reason for this is the ongoing dispute over the sharing of seats with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The JMM has expressed its willingness to contest all its seats and is not in favor of giving up any seat. Although the final seat-sharing talks with the RJD will be held on Monday, the outcome is not yet certain.
The party’s 24 MLAs will be renominated but there are still doubts on Baharagoda and Potka seats. Apart from this, her daughter Sneha Mahto and Stephen Marandi’s daughter are also likely to replace Ichagarh MLA Savita Mahto. The party has given election symbols to many candidates without declaring their names.

On Monday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will participate in the nomination of Mithilesh Thakur in Garhwa and Anant Pratap Dev in Bhawanathpur and address election meetings. Kalpana Soren will join the nomination of Sukhram Oraon in Chakradharpur. In the 2019 assembly elections, JMM had won 30 MLAs, out of which Nalin Soren became an MP, while Champai Soren, Lobin Hembrom and Sita Soren joined the BJP. New candidates will be given a chance on these seats.
