Araria: Muslims protest against BJP MP’s statement against Pradeep Kumar Singh

Araria News: People of the Muslim community in Araria took to the road against the statement of BJP MP Pradeep Kumar Singh. Thousands of angry people demonstrated. As well as arson on the road.

Araria MP Pradeep Kumar Singh: People of Muslim society in Araria, Bihar protested against the provocative statement of BJP MP Pradeep Kumar Singh on Wednesday, 23 October, 2024. The BJP MP had said during the Hindu Swabhiman Yatra that if you want to live in Araria, you have to become a Hindu. People gathered at a major intersection and a four-lane national highway to protest against this remark of BJP MP Pradeep Singh and created ruckus.

The protesters burnt tyres and demanded a public apology from BJP MP Pradeep Kumar Singh. The protesters marched from Araria Zero Mile to Chandni Chowk, while the protesters also gathered at Khori Chowk.

The situation remains tense and local authorities are working to prevent the situation from escalating further. A huge contingent of police, led by district’s Additional Superintendent of Police Ram Pukar Singh, has been deployed to handle the situation. Police are making active appeals to people to remain calm to prevent any violent clashes. However, despite the efforts of the authorities, the atmosphere in Araria remains tense.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has accused Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav of increasing tension in Araria. He said that the MP’s statement was to show direction to his community and not to insult people of other communities. It was Tejashwi Yadav who made provocative remarks, disturbed communal harmony and created unrest in Araria. Tejashwi is responsible for the communal unrest as his statements led people to take to the streets in protest.
