Dispute over seat sharing in India alliance

Ranchi: Now only 60 hours are left for the nomination for the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections, but there is a dispute over seat sharing among the constituent parties of India alliance. Neither RJD’s stand is clear nor that of CPI-ML. Congress has released the first list of 21 candidates, the second list is yet to come. JMM has not released the list of its candidates, but has started filing nominations. On Tuesday, CPI-ML has fielded candidates on three seats. The party has fielded Arup Chatterjee from Nirsa, Rajkumar Yadav from Dhanwar, Chandradev Mahato alias Bablu Mahato from Sindri.

At the same time, CPI-ML has increased the suspense by saying that all democratic forces should unite to defeat BJP in the state and ensure the victory of India alliance in the Jharkhand assembly elections. Party’s state secretary Manoj Bhakt said that CPI-ML will field its candidates only on those seats where the party is in a position to defeat BJP. Meanwhile, RJD has also given symbol to its candidate from four seats. RJD’s nomination is starting from 23rd October. On 23rd October, party candidate from Chatra and daughter-in-law of Minister Satyanand Bhokta, Rashmi Prakash will file nomination.

Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, state in-charge Jaiprakash Narayan Yadav, National General Secretary Bhola Yadav, MP Surendra Yadav, State President Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav and other leaders will be present in her nomination. After the nomination, there will also be an election meeting in Chatra Sadar Police Station Ground. However, the distribution of seats has not been officially done yet. On Tuesday, in the Congress Election Committee meeting in Delhi, the names of the remaining candidates of Jharkhand were finalized. Its announcement will be made soon. Candidates of India Alliance will start filing nomination papers from Wednesday.

RJD has given ticket to Rashmi Prakash from Chatra

RJD has got six seats from the alliance. These seats include Chatra, Godda, Deoghar, Koderma, Hussainabad, apart from this it has got Vishrampur seat. Chhatarpur seat has gone to Congress’ account. Radhakrishna Kishore, who joined Congress on Tuesday, is likely to contest from here. RJD has allotted party symbol to Rashmi Prakash from Chatra, Sanjay Prasad Yadav from Godda, Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav from Hussainabad, Suresh Paswan from Deoghar, while the names of candidates from Bishrampur and Koderma have been kept on hold.

CPIM has got four seats from the alliance

CPIM has also been unofficially given Bagodar, Sindri, Nirsa and Dhanwar seats by the alliance. But CPI-ML is adamant on the fifth seat Jamua. While JMM has kept the Jamua seat with itself. BJP’s sitting MLA from this seat Kedar Hazra has joined JMM after not getting a ticket from BJP. Therefore, JMM is not ready to give Jamua to CPIML at any cost. Here, amidst the fast changing political developments on Tuesday, Congress gave a shock to RJD by taking former minister Radhakrishna Kishore into its fold. Kishore has duly taken membership of Congress. After this, there is a discussion whether Kishore can be the Congress candidate from Chhatarpur. This move of Congress has further increased the political heat of the India Alliance.

JMM’s first and Congress’s second list may be released

Congress has released the first list of 21 candidates on Monday night, in which all sitting ministers and all MLAs except two have been given tickets. The party has again fielded Ajay Nath Shahdev from Hatia. Out of the 29 seats that came to Congress’s share, candidates have been declared on only 21 seats. Candidates are yet to be declared from the remaining eight seats Pakur, Barhi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Kanke, Panki, Daltonganj and Vishrampur. According to the information, Congress is confused in Pakur. Should the jailed former minister Alamgir Alam be fielded or someone from his family. The party fears that giving ticket to Alamgir Alam may bring disrepute to Congress and the alliance. In such a situation, there is a possibility that the party may field Alamgir Alam’s son Tanveer Alam. On the other hand, age is coming in the way of Umashankar Akela from Barhi. Therefore, he himself has proposed the name of his son. After the release of the list of JMM and Congress, the picture of the alliance is expected to become clear to a large extent.
